Exploring Erasmus+ connections worldwide

In March 2015 Joseph Little travelled to Biberach, Baden-Württemberg, in south-west Germany to see the carpentry-joinery training centre and the nearby University of Applied Sciences. This small university has architecture and engineering programmes with a timber focus, and a strong connection to the extensive training centre nearby. The university has recently declared an interest in making an Erasmus+ connection with DIT. Joseph is talking to interested students in DSA.

In November 2015 Joseph Little travelled to the Graduate School of the Environment (ESIROI) in the University of La Réunion. The island, just east of Madagascar, is tropical with a live volcano and stunning landscape. It has 900,000 inhabitants and is part of ‘La France d’Outre Mer’ (a designation which ensures a good infrastructure and a Euro economy). He went to give lectures and teach hygrothermal risk assessment using the Wufi suite of applications. If DSA aims to be a centre for NZEB competence in northern Europe, ESIROI is a clear leader in delivering naturally-ventilated NZEB in the tropics - a huge swathe of the planet that includes southern portions of Florida, Brazil and China. There is good potential for an Erasmus+ connection with their built environment and food science programmes.
